Some of you who visit my blog regularly will think that this card looks a little familiar to you Well that is because I made 4 base cards with the houndstooth pattern on it because I have challenged myself to always make more than one card at a time this year so I can build my card stash up. To see the card similar to this one, click here. I made two of these Valentine cards to place in my stash and made two of the other card.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to come and visit me, you always make my day brighter with your visits and comments. Crafty hugs, Brenda

I think you could easily edit this post to add it to the Muse gallery, Brenda ... you know this song, right? "but half as much as tomorrow......."

Love this sentiment, too, Brenda. The card is beautiful. I hope you are very good to yourself on the 13th. Do something that makes you as happy as you can be. Enjoy your granddaughter's birthday party.

A clean and simple beauty! Love that houndstooth paper and of course all the little hearts.

What a great Valentine - both inside and outside! I'm loving that houndstooth with the red hearts and I like how you decorated the inside too! Wishing you fond memories as you remember your coming anniversary. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI love this Valentine card and the houndstooth looks good as a background for the little red hearts. I think that's a good idea to make several cards at once while you have everything right there. I have to make the card first to see if it comes out well and if I like it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Brenda!!! Loving the houndstooth and the red with it!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that houndstooth paper and it's perfect with the red hearts! Good for you doubling up to increase your stash!
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda. Seems like a few of us in blogland have made the decision to make multiple cards this year. I'm hoping to stick with it ... an easy way to build a stash of cards. And it's fun to create something and then design two cards that are different. Love the houndstooth squares paired with those sweet little hearts. xx
ReplyDeleteThe black and white houndstooth is fabulous behind those little hearts, Brenda ... love how that sweet sentiment is so special for you! Hugs, my friend, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card Brenda! Love that background.... and love the design of the card... so pretty! And on the 13th... go and eat at your favorite restaurant that you and hubby would go to... take one of your grands with you or maybe a DIL or even one of the boys.... :) Do something fun and have a great time celebrating your granddaughter's birthday! 2 is a very fun age!

A striking colour combo Brenda, the design is so pretty. Very clever idea to make more than one card at once. I guess that the amount of snippets won't add up.

I am sure the 13th will be a hard day for you, Brenda...but the treasured memories you shared will help you that day.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a celebration day after as that will help too.
This is such a wonderful card...even more so with the story you shared!
Your houndstooth backgrounds are perfect for those sweet red hearts, and how touching is that sentiment! Totally love this card, my dear friend! As some of the others have mentioned: do something 'special' on your anniversary days, not just once a year, but every month. Perhaps the 13th is a day for a special treat, be that a decadent dessert or a 'spa' day or whatever comes to mind. Consider it a day that you 'spend' with Dwayne, doing what you know he'd love for you to be doing (spoiling and pampering comes to mind!). I hope the day wasn't too difficult for you...and that your granddaughter's second birthday was fun, fun and fun!
