On the medical front, hubby was given an extra week off from chemo. So no chemo this week. Doc is afraid that the chemo will do permanent nerve damage. So he is having hubby doing a CAT scan tomorrow and then on Monday he will go in for quite possibly his last treatment. Doc will contact our doctor down at John Hopkins to let her know that hubby is ready for the study. Hubby will just have to wait the 28 days to get all the chemo out his system. He should be able to do all the testing for the study. We will see what Monday brings, as well as the results of the CAT scan. I'm praying that the study will be just what he needs to kick this cancer's butt!
Ok, back on track here, we have a new challenge today and that challenge is being hosted by our sweet and talented Susan. She has challenged us as well as you to use watermelon on our projects. I searched all my Cricut cartridges for watermelons and then picked the one I liked best and this is what I came up with.
As always thank you for taking time out of your day to visit me. I always love when you stop by and your comments always make my day more special! Crafty hugs, Brenda

I hope and pray that the latest round of chemo will help your hubby get on track for the clinical trials! It has to be heartbreaking to see him going through the horrors of his treatments. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun summer-themed card with that giant ant hauling off the slice of juicy watermelon1 I love the matching gingham heart accent with the sentiment. It's a typical picnic scene, and I love the added sequins too!
You don't get notifications, and I keep getting bumped offline 5 times a day or more. It's maddening and causes me to stay off the computer more and more every day because I'm always angry about it! Computers are wonderful when they work properly, and when they don't...........well you know what I'm talking about! Have a great week ahead and stay cool!
This is such a fun card Brenda. I love it.
ReplyDeleteBig hug from Veerle x
God luck with the treatment/study and great card
ReplyDeleteI'm praying that the study works for your hubby, Brenda. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so adorable!! The ant is too cute!! The gingham paper is perfect - like a picnic table cover!! Love this my friend!! Have a great day :)

ReplyDeleteYour picnic card is so full of summery FUN, Brenda!! I love it to pieces!! I'm glad you posted as I was just off to write to you for an update. I'm delighted to hear that Dwayne is so much closer to being able to participate in the JH study! I'm praying that there are no more roadblocks during the next 28 days to making this happen for you both!! Love and hugs, Auntie Darnell
ReplyDeletePraying that things are right on track for the JHopkins trials, and that the CAT scan shows huge improvement. I know you are both on pins & needles. Also know that you both will stay real strong too. This card is just doggone cute (well, the paper ant is cute, real ones...nah, not so much). But when you have watermelon juice, the ants show up. He looks cute lugging that slice across the gingham tabletop too. Really adorable summer card. Hugs & TFS. MM
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little melon carrying ant, Brenda ... the gingham table cloth puts me in mind of a sweet summer picnic ... delicious! So glad that the news is better for Dwayne ... prayers flowing your way that it all continues well with the CAT scan and that the study at John Hopkins goes along just as planned! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeletePraying that this is the last round of chemo for Dwayne, praying harder that he might just not need this one :) So glad that he'll be able to get into the study.
ReplyDeleteI'm not getting my email notifications for You Tube either. Haven't in a long long time for some reason. Most of the blogs I check out are from blogger just so much easier to get that one each day and hit them all at the same time :)
You got a super cute card Brenda :) So sweet and good for using up some old paper that gingham is perfect for the card :)
Hugs my friend
Tina
Brenda,
ReplyDeleteI hope that the chemo break will help hubby's body bounce back and that he will feel much better. Once it is all cleared out for that month, he can do the study and I pray that this study helps him to fight off that cancer. I really do! Always thinking of you guys and keeping you in my prayers. As for your watermelon card, its adorable! I love how that ant seems to look cute, something about him lol ... but sneaky too! Lovely summer card!
