Well I'm sure you are aware that it is Monday and that means it is time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. Maureen is our sweet and talented hostess and she has chosen for us to use or make an ornament using Cricut die cuts. Well as you know I've already said that I'm not doing well with getting anything ready this month so I waited until the last minute to do this card. Then I was interrupted what seems like a hundred times! The phone rang non stop and of course no one can answer the phone but me, The dog has issues and I was cleaning up after her every time I turned around and I was just getting really frustrated. So this card is just kinda thrown together. I started out cutting my ornament from the Artiste cartridge out of silver and gold foiled paper. I dry embossed the stripes on the white and used some blue paper for a layer cause I love silver and blue together-not quite the blue I wanted, but was all I had. Now ask me why in the heck did I cut out a striped red bow?!!! I have no clue what I was thinking and I plead the 5th! I was just trying to get this card done and this is what happened. sigh The bow is a My Creative Time die. I used a SU sentiment that I heat embossed in silver and that is it folks. There is plenty inspiration from my design team sisters over at BBTB2 if you need some. I hope you will link up with us with a Cricut ornament, the simple rules are on the sidebar over at BBTB2.
As always I want to thank you for taking the time to visit me, I always appreciate you, especially this time of year when everyone is so busy. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Pretty!!
ReplyDeleteawww, I'm sorry you're frazzled at this busy time of the year, but it happens to all of us! Your card really turned out to be elegant and classy! I love the diagonal embossed background with that gorgeous ornament and the large font on the sentiment is just beautiful! Nice job on this, and I hope you find some "me" time over the next several weeks to just unwind, relax and enjoy the season! Warm hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour ornament is dazzling, Brenda. It looks great on the embossed background. The sentiment is gorgeous. And I like the bow, too :). Hopefully, your hubby's side effects from the meds will be taken care of easily once you see the doctor. I'm behind in my holiday efforts, too. Take care and don't stress about it. Just do what you can in your own time.
ReplyDeleteThis card came out beautiful. I love the little pink bow, it is so sweet. I hope hubby's meds are adjusted so he can continue on them with no side effects. If you stop by my blog you will see you are not alone with Christmas prep. I just can't seem to get my act together this year. I have plenty of time, but the rest of me isn't on track. Don't stress, just do what you can. It's the love of faith and family we are celebrating. Hang in there.

Take a deep breath, Brenda. Now another. If you're the only one that can do it, maybe it doesn't need to be done. Or so I tell myself. LOL. That's like the pot calling the kettle black. It's frantic around here too! I love your gold ornament and the striped bow! Beautiful embossing and sentiment too!
ReplyDeleteRemember to take time to enjoy the season. Prayers for your DH. A sore mouth is no fun!
This ornament is so elegant and looks gorgeous on your card. Beautiful cut. Love the embossing, too. You made a beautiful card. I am glad you shared about your doggie. My Sadie is older and I feel like I am cleaning messes all the time too. She doesn't like rain, snow, wind and only wants to poop in good weather, lol. Actually grrr. Hope everything gets better at your house.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, this is gorgeous! And I love the red striped bow. Looks fabulous! Take a deep breath and take it one project at a time. You'll get it done. Good luck at the docs. Sending y'all both extra prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda I think the bow is totally perfect for your card!! I so love it!!! And that ornament, paper and embossed sentiment is so very beautiful!!! :)

This card is really pretty! I think you are too hard on yourself and I find that some of your best work is when you are "rushed" according to you LOL ... I really like that bow... it reminds me of a candycane and thats one of the traditional things that were on our Christmas tree with the ornaments when I was a little girl. I love it! And I hope that you get everything done in time .... this year is flying by and so are the days to Christmas lol .... Tell Dwayne I hope he feels better!!!

Your 'thrown-together' doesn't look that way at all. It's VERY pretty. Loved the contrasting bow too. The silver & striped embossing was very classy paired with that gorgeous gold ornament. If that's hurry, do it more!!! It's lovely. Hope the side effects will get sorted and that he is feeling better by now. Don't stress over the holiday. You've got your priorities right..you're looking after the family. All the other is just what we do to ourselves I think. Terrific card. Calm down and enjoy it! Big Hugs, Merry Christmas & TFS MM
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card even though you were stressed with all the "festivities" LOl Love the title and the gold ornament.
ReplyDeleteAs always, you are too hard on yourself, Brenda! Your card is so pretty and I think the candy cane bow is darling!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the doctor was able to adjust hubby's med and try again. He has SO many people pulling for him and praying for him! I haven't forgotten, even tho I haven't been a very good bloggie friend about visiting. I hope you are all able to enjoy a wonderful Christmas and that the new year is full of blessings!! Big Holiday hugs!! Auntie
Does't look thrown together at all-I love it!!!!! Hope things settle down bit for you soon. You are juggling a lot of balls! I myself had to go buy a Christmas tree skirt (even though I KNOW we own two already but could not find either one anywhere…) and a new tree stand. In the middle of putting up the tree-realized the old stand was so rusted out it had a hole in the bottom and leaking water. Of course it was only 20 years old or so….lol! I hope your hubby is feeling better and that the side effects can get sorted out so he can enjoy Christmas!
ReplyDelete:)
