Please take a moment to pause and remember the victims of 9/11 today. It is a day that changed America. So many lives lost for no good reason. So many lives lost to fight to save the lives of American's trapped in the burning Twin Towers. So many lives lost from fighting to protect our great Nation. It's a day that is burned into everyone's memory, we all know what we were doing and where we where when we got the news. For me it was news that I knew was going to send my son to war. To a war that has lasted for 13 years and no sign of letting up yet. My son has been deployed most of his adult life, with 5 deployments under his belt and with another coming up. My son was only 19 when he left for war. I wasn't ready to let him go but I couldn't control it. I'm very proud of my son, he is the true sense of an American Soldier. So please take the time today to remember all those effected by 9/11. We all were effected in some way or another. Today is chemo day for hubby so we will be sitting and reflecting on the last 13 years as well as that day that changed our lives forever. Remember our soldiers today saying a little prayer for those who are deployed right now and for the ones that will deploy, they so deserve our prayers for fighting to keep our Nation free and safe for us. They give us the ultimate gift when they give their lives, asking nothing in return. I could never, ever do our soldier's job so they have my highest respect and admiration!! God Bless America and God Bless Our Soldiers!!! Thank you and crafty hugs, Brenda
I have the upmost respect for your son and also the upmost respect for you,. Not only is your son protecting us but you have the hardest part. The proud MOM and the MOM that worries about HIM. My nephew is now deployed over there. He is in the airforce.. right now he is in Kosavo, and from there not sure where they will be sending him. Hugs my friend., and hugs to Dwayne.
You are so right, our service men and women need our prayers and support. They are protecting us by putting their lives on the line. I watched the moment of silence this morning with tears for all those innocent lives lost. Sending good thoughts for hubby and you today that chemo is doing its job.
Your son is a true American hero. Thanks and gratitude for continually serving our country. I will be praying that everything goes will with your hubby today. Big hugs :)
I agree with everything you said Brenda. Me and DH will never ever forget seeing this on the news in the UK and the revulsion we felt towards those terrorists has never gone. Too many innocent mums, fathers, brothers, and sisters innocent lives were lost. It changed the western world for all of us. Sending you huge hugs huni and I hope the chemo goes well Karen x
I couldn't have put it into better words myself! I've always held our military, firefighters, and first responders in the highest regard, and today is a day I'll always honor and remember their sacrifice and service, as well as the thousands who lost their lives that fateful day in 2001. I dedicate my posted card today to your son - along with every other soldier who serves our country! NEVER forget!
Beautiful words of remembrance. My son in law did two tours overseas and he was so young at the time. Some of his friends just getting out of the service now are having trouble adjusting to life again. I pray for them too, that they can overcome and triumph after military life.
Hello, my wonderful friend! I'm waving wildly at you from the Land of Hectic and Disorganized! Please knwo that I think of you often, and even though that note I owe is on 'delay,' it will come! Your sweet comments on my blog - paired with your patience with my seeming inability to juggle work, crafting, and 'time' in general - touch my heart deeply! You're like one of those 'friends for ages' - always supportive, always encouraging, always cheering! Your post here is an eloquent, from-the-heart tribute to the victims of 9/11, and to those young men - like your son - and women of service. While I know that seeing your son deployed wrenches your heart, I also know your deep admiration for this willingness to stand up for this convictions. He's a hero, my friend...but you already know that! Hope your husband's chemo went well and that the steps to recovery are speeding along! Gigantic hugs... off to see more (she say's with a bright smile on her face!) ~c
Thank you for your comments. I enjoy reading each and everyone of them and love when you stop by to visit me for a spell. I will be stopping by shortly to visit you too. I so appreciate you! Crafty hugs, Brenda
