Hello my crafty friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We did, our son came home this weekend. Yes, I know he was only at school for one week. lol But everyone was coming home so he thought he'd do the same. I'm not complaining one bit! He will be home for a few weekends in a row and then after that, not so much so. Of course he worked the whole weekend. At least we know he has good work ethics!
Today on BBTB2 our sweet and talented host is Maureen. She has challenged us to us a dress form or dress this week because it is all about fashion! I have no fashion sense, so this wasn't a great challenge for me. lol I was short on time so I didn't get my cute dress fancied up so it is just a sweet, country dress .I used the Nifty Fifties for my dress form and dress, some burlap paper and My Creative Time stamps and dies. I hope you will go over and check out what inspirations my design team sisters have for you today and then "dress up" and join us over at BBTB2 with your project. Thanks for stopping by today and visiting with me. I always appreciate your sweet comments and hope you will stop by again soon! Crafty hugs, Brenda
That's a very lovely card Brenda. I wouldn't know how to start a theme like this, well done.

I think this dress is very fashionable with the little bit of contrast! And I always love gingham! It all looks great on the burlap!
ReplyDeleteThe country feel of this card is wonderful! I love the gingham, tiny flowers and burlap background! Even the string of pearls looks amazing!! I love how the letter "A" in the dress stand is almost a part of the sentiment! We all need "A" friends don't we? Clever :)
ReplyDeleteLove this cute little country dress! It even reminds me of one I used to have a wear. SO cute and love the burlap!

Hello Brenda, what a fabulous "simple country dress"!! I love the burlap paper, the sentiment stamp, and that darling dress!! This is such a refreshingly clean card - I truly, truly love it.
ReplyDeleteI also really enjoyed reading your long bio. What a life you have had, my friend. I am so happy that your your wonderful husband and all of those fabulous sons. There is nothing like stability and a since of family and home! I too wanted that same thing for my children.
Anyway, have a great week and thanks for sharing not only your project but yourself today!!
Hugs,
Susan
So adorable. I love the darling pink dress. I'd love a dress like that, but I have no clue where I'd go on it. I'm a pretty dressed down person since I don't work anymore. Glad you got to see your son this weekend, my friend! The nest was full again, if only for awhile.

Hello, my sweet friend! Holy smokes, but being back at work has disrupted my routine totally! All those hours of blog-visiting, commenting and card-making: gone! Eeee...oh well, need to earn my salary to keep my hobby fed! In a couple of weeks, I'll figure out a new routine - but then I'll be back to officiating at bike races. EEEE again! Anyway...whiny me! Your fashion sense is AWESOME! I love that sweet country dress; in fact, if I could find some in exactly that style, I'd add it to my wardrobe...in every colour imaginable! Love it!! I'm thrilled your son came home for the weekend and that repeats of the same are in the forecast! You'll find Monday-Friday flying by - and before you know it, he'll have a longer stretch of home time with Thanksgiving and Christmas knocking at the "soon to be here" door! Your wonderful comments on my blog - and your AMAZING friendship - mean the world to me!
ReplyDeleteHugs galore (I'm hiring a truck to send them all your way *grin*)!!

What a nice card, I like that cut but haven't used it yet. Empty nester can be good and bad. I still have a 28yr old at home and am waiting. We took my Grandaughter camping this week, she is three, and she had a blast. My daughter and son in law didn't know what to do without the little one around, their nest was empty for a few days
