Celebrate!! Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, happy Friday to everyone! If it is Friday then it is time for a brand new Funday Friday challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our theme for today is create for any celebration. Our sponsor is Bugaboo and that is where my digi came from for today. My card is plain and simple, not much fuss to it. The paper stack I used is from  My Paper Studio called Lula and Luca. I colored my image with my Spectrum Noir markers, used my Martha Steward drippy goo punch for along the bottom and inside my card. My sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink, Birthday Basic's. I put some clear stickles on the candle flame, the stars and the highlight on the balloon. And yes, I know I have my light source coming from two different directions. lol I just started coloring with the cake and wanted my light coming in from the right, never even paid attention to the balloon until I colored it last. I should have paid attention to the balloon first and then had my light coming in from the left. Live and learn, so when you have a balloon with the highlight go by that! lol Super simple and quick card, but thought it was pretty cute all the same. Please stop by Jo's Scrap Shack and check out the challenge and see what prizes you could win! Here are some simple rules. So what are you waiting for? Come and get crafty with us, you know we love it when you do! Thanks for stopping by for a spell today too, I love when you come and visit and will come and visit you too. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Birthday card and Exciting News!

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you all are having a fabulous hump day! I hope you are keeping warm too if you are in the Eastern frozen zones. Our corn stove has been going like crazy to keep us warm. Hubby usually works his week of chemo, but so far this week he has only been able to go in once because of the cold. I pray that you people in the south fair with that winter storm that is supposed to hit you all. Even us up to the north who have snow equipment don't like the ice. If it is snow you can drive, it is ice you just slide! Then loose electric, which is not a good thing in these temps! We aren't supposed to get anything from this next storm, so I am a happy camper. I will keep those who are effected in my prayers.

Well onto my exciting news and then my simple card. Cardz TV had a design team call and I was one that was chosen to be on the team this term!!! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am! I love Mary and all her cards and I love her design team and now I'm part of it! Woo hoo!! So doing the happy dance! So I hope you come and check out the challenges and maybe even take part in them. There will be card challenges as well as 3D challenges! I'm on the card team. So go over to Cardz TV and check out the new design teams!

Now my simple card. I saw this on pinterest and thought it was cute. So I "copied" it. Mine is a little different in that I didn't pop up the insides of the numbers and I didn't put "happy birthday" on the front cover. Was going to, then forgot to because I was in a hurry and needed the card. lol I used My Creative Time's Stitched 4x6 Journal dies, the Stitched Gift Card Pocket, and the Fun Stitched Edges dies. My "28" on the front of the card was the same paper as the border on the inside piece, but washed out with the sunlight. My stamped sentiments are from Cardz TV, Good Times stamp set. Thank you for stopping by today and sharing in my good news. I love when you stop by and sit with me for a spell. I will come by and visit you too real soon. Come back soon! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Funday Friday Challenge!

Happy Friday everyone, are you glad that it is Friday?? You know if it is Friday, then it is time for another challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack's Funday Friday. Our sponsor today is 3 Twenty Crafts! This is Jo's very own crafty store where she sells her stamps and some crafty goodies as well as hand crafted word books. Today we didn't have a theme, but we had a sketch to go by and we were to use any of the stamp sets from 3 Twenty. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card. I used the Background Builders stamp set for my "paper". Since I was making a winter card, I wanted my "stripes" to be a little rugged looking as I was going for the look of bare branches. I used Hero Art's Shadow ink in Cup of Joe. Then for my bottom I used Hero Art's shadow ink Soft Pool for that polka dot border as well as for my snowflakes, which come from the stamp set called Winter Wonderland and Tags & Trimmings stamp set on the squares. My tree came from Winter Wonderland stamp set. I used Hero Art's shadow ink in Field Greens. I used some generic liquid pearls in white for my snow and sprinkled on SU Dazzling Diamonds. The stitched squares are from My Creative Time Square Stitched Goody Dies.  For my scalloped edges I used My Creative Time Fun Stitched Edge dies. Love these edge dies! I layer all this on a black card base and stamped my sentiment. My sentiment is from My Creative Time It's a Magical Season.  For the inside I used the polka dot border and some snowflakes.  I hope you go over to Jo's Scrap Shack to see what inspiration my design team sisters have for you too. We have new design team sisters as well, so I hope you give them a warm welcome!! Then do your take on the sketch and link up with us. You know we love when you get crafty with us and who knows, maybe you will win the prize from 3 Twenty! As always thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit me. I love getting visitors and I hope you enjoyed yourself. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Get Well Soon-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a great Monday. We are off for chemo this morning. Half way done!!! Now hubby will be glad when it is all done! So if today is Monday, then that means it is time for a BBTB2 challenge. I have to tell you that I goofed up royally. As I'm posting my project to the BBTB2 post, I realized that I totally forgot a word on my card. So I will be re-doing that part! lol I couldn't believe that I had missed that until I was posting. Didn't miss it when I was taking pictures of my project. No, now I realized it. Duh to me! So I will be fixing that!! So our sweet design team sister Emily, who is very talented to I might add, gave us the challenge of making a get well card. Well just so happens that I need some get well cards and my inspiration for this one came from Mary over at Cardztv. So here it is, one that I have to fix. Grrrrrrr......Don't you just love it when you do dumb stuff like this and please tell me I'm not alone?! Ok so I used B is for Boys Cricut cartridge. I did a Joy Fold base for my card style. I cut my bigger band-aide at 1.50 inches, and my "owie" at one inch. I used some generic stamps for my words, and what words I didn't have in them I masked off letters and made my work. Like for heard...I had the word hear, so I stamped hear and then took the word do and masked off the o and stamped the d on the end of hear. Clear as mud?? Only I forgot the word "have". Yeah, pretty dumb, but that is me. lol  I placed another band-aide on the inside cut at 1 inch. My outside band-aide is popped up on the left side so my "owie" flap can tuck behind the band-aide.  Since I wanted a masculine card, I used more masculine papers. Please go over to BBTB2 and see what fabulous inspiration my design team sisters has for you.  Then go to your Cricut and make a get well card and link up with us. But please remember this is a Cricut challenge, so you must use your Cricut. Thanks for stopping by for a spell today, I hope you got a kick out of my mistake, I know I did! Thanks for your sweet comments and I hope to see you back sometime to visit again. Crafty hugs, Brenda

It's a Love Thing...Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my fabulous crafty friends, I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!! Since it is Friday, it is time for another challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack for Funday Friday. Our sponsor this week is Stamp Art by Kathryn. Love her digi's, they are so cute!! I chose the Hap-Bee Bee and Sayings to use in my project today. This set comes with some cute sayings to use with the cute little bee. I started off using my Gypsy to size my cuts and made a heart shaped card base using Doodlecharms for my heart. I printed my polka dot paper on my Imagine using the Bumble Gum cartridge, after cutting the heart out I ran it though my Cuttlebug using the honeycomb embossing folded (click on the pic to make it bigger to see the embossing), using the debossed side. I then used Walk in my Garden Cricut cartridge for my little bee hive. I inked up my bee hive and heart lightly using Tim Holtz's black soot distress ink. Coloring my bees with my Spectrum Noir markers, I cut them out and placed them on my card by popping them up. I then used My Creative Time Stitched Hearts and cut the smallest heart out 3 times and placed on my card and bow. Added some stickles on my hearts and bee's wings and was done the outside. The inside I cut out the same heart as on the front, but in black and then a slightly smaller one for my sentiment and signature. Stamped my sentiment using My Creative Time Lots of Love stamp set and put another bee popped up on the inside as well. And that is it folks! I hope you go over to Jo's Scrap Shack to see what inspiration my DT sisters have for you as well as read up on the rules to enter this challenge. Then I hope you will get crafty with us and link up your "It's a love thing" project! As always thanks for taking time to stop by and visit me today, I always enjoy when you do! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Be Mine..Valentines for the Grandchildren

Hello my crafty friends, Christmas is over and put away. Our son has left and went back to their homes with the grands and we are finally getting back to our somewhat new "normal". I say our new normal because of hubby's chemo treatment every other week. That will be part of our normal for 6 month, so our "new" normal. Hubby is working this week part time so that gives me some normal time with him being gone and it give him some normal time because it is something that he had done for over 30 years. The week of treatment he does not work, the cold sensitivity is too much since he works in the cold most of the time holding cold tools and such. So now that we are back to our new normal, I got some extra crafty time in my room. I had colored some images that I stamped and thought I would make them into some Valentine cards for the grands. I think these stamps were Penny Lane stamps, not sure but they were blog candy that I had won some time ago and this is the first time I've used them. I plan on stamping the other stamps in this set as well. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color these little cuties and cut them along with a red base with SB dies as well as embossed the white layer. Then I used the Mojo Monday sketch #327, love sketches as I don't have to think! lol  I popped my little cuties up on SU dimensional"s. My sentiments came from My Creative Time Lots of Love stamp set, my hearts came from My Creative Time Stitched Heart Layering dies, the cute little edge design on the girl card is My Creative Time the Stitched Mini Frame and Arrow die, and on the boy's card I used My Creative Time Stitched Fun Ticket dies. The inks I used are Hero Shadow inks in Pale Tomato and Cup of Joe. Love, love this inks! All papers are scraps from my scrap bin, or snippets as my sweet Momma Mary calls them, except my card bases. Both cards are the same on the inside.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. I hope you enjoyed yourself, I know I enjoy having you here! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Fabulous 53!-BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, Happy Monday to you all. I hope you are keeping warm in your neck of the woods. DH has went to work since this is his off from chemo week. It's been nice having him home, but I find it harder to get my chores done when he is here. lol

My very sweet and super talented design team sister, Caroline, gave us the challenge of doing a birthday card with a number on it at BBTB2. I was thinking of what birthdays are coming up next, and decided that I would do a ladies card for our cousin who will be turning 53 and she looks fabulous. I am a year older than her and wish I had her skinny body!! lol So I took the Don Juan cart and got the shadow for the numbers 5 & 3. I welded them together, copied and flipped them and welded it all together so I would have a number shaped card. Then went to Forever Young and grabbed the word "fabulous" and welded it to my card base. I made sure to make another fabulous so I could cut the word out in a color of my choice to add to the front of the card. I used a white gel pen to put highlights on fabulous.  I also picked a lady that I thought best fit our cousin, sized it up (all sizing was done on my Gypsy) along with her outfit. Then the hardest part for me, picking the papers. I used the Black Currant stack by DCWV and some black card stock. I also used my envelope punch board to make a vellum envie for a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card. The vellum is card stock vellum from SU. I should have welded my lady onto the base of my card and then pop dotted the layers, but I didn't. What's done is done. lol I'm still pretty happy with how it came out and I think our cousin will love it. Go to BBTB2 and see all the wonderful inspiration my design team sister's have for you, they are brilliant! Then why not dust off your Cricut and join us on our number birthday challenge? We love when you get crafty with us, but please remember that this is a Cricut challenge so you must use your Cricut. As always thanks for stopping by and visiting me today. I love when you stop by and sit a spell. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Anything Goes-Funday Friday Challege

Happy Friday my crafty friends, I hope you have kept warm this week. It's been a super cold one around here, but we are out of our sub zero deep freeze thankfully. It wasn't good for hubby with his cold sensitivity from his one chemo, so he stayed inside. I had to venture out but wasn't out long let me tell you. lol  Are you ready for a new challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack?! Our theme is anything goes and our sponsor is Bugaboo. I didn't use a digi from Bugaboo this time around. My card is a Pinterest inspired card that I chose to lift. I used the Stitched Heart Dies and the 4x4 Journal Die & More from My Creative Time for my hearts, then I used one of the Fun Stitched Edges for my edge cut on the heart tag. A  Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss my heart background, wishing now I would have used the debossed side instead, but still cute this way too. Some word stamps that I put together for my sentiment-got them from Hobby Lobby and this set just had words in it so you could make your own sayings. I don't have the name of them as I don't have the packaging anymore. I will be changing my stamp storage and will start to label any news ones so I know who the maker as well as the stamp name. And finally I used some candy dots from Stampin' Up. I should have popped up my tag with the hearts, and was going to but forgot. I didn't want to tear it off, so I left it as is. I think this card is a cute CAS card and I just love it! I hope you do too. Now go to Jo's Scrap Shack and check out the challenge, we love it when you link up with us and what could be better than an "anything goes" challenge?!  I want to thank you for stopping by for a visit today, I always love when you take the time to come to visit me. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Here is the Pinterest Card that I lifted.

Happy Nat'l Hobby Month-BBTB2 Challenge

Hi my crafty friends, did you know that January was National Hobby Month? Yep, it is! So it is my turn to host over at BBTB2 and I chose for my DT sisters to make anything to do with their hobby. That can be anything, kinda' a free for all, the sky's the limit. They just had to use their Cricut on their project. I love to do all kinds of hobbies, but I guess that scrap booking is my favorite hobby besides reading and spending time with my family.  So I did a simple scrap layout of our grand-daughters.  Our youngest grand-daughter (until March, then we get a new grand-daughter) share's a birthday with her Papaw, so we braved the low temps and went over for her birthday. She got a cute little dolly that sings "ring around the rosie" from her daddy and mommy.  Well this is one of Leah's favorite little songs and of course she loved the dolly. Well trouble with this cute little dolly was that Leah's older sister loved the dolly too! So Leah kinda' lost her dolly for a while. I'm anxious to see who gets to play with the dolly the most, Leah or Claire?! lol I suspect they both will play with it, but that Claire will be the "boss" of this dolly. lol

My title is "Round & Round" and even though it doesn't show up well in the photo, it does in real life. My poor picture taking skills are showing well here. lol. My title came from Nursery Rhymes as well as the silhouette of the kids playing ring around the rosie. I used My Creative Time 4x4 Journal Die + More for my journaling box as well as the Get Schooled Stamp set for the lines on my journaling card, and the We Are Family stamp set.  I also used the date stamp from SU for the date at the top of my journaling card. The papers are from my stash and I only know that the flowered paper is from a DCWV stack, The Sweet Stack I think it is called. I hope you come over to BBTB2 to check out the awesome things my design team sister's have for you, they are all so awesome!! Then I hope you will decide to join us in this challenge. Just please remember that you need to use your Cricut on your project as BBTB2 is a Cricut based challenge, but do whatever your hobby is-could be altering items, scrap booking, cards, maybe home decor-what ever is!. Now while you are viewing this, hubby is getting back on track with chemo after his nice break over the holidays. I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year! Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a spell and visiting me, I love when you do! Crafty hugs, Brenda

Happy New Year! Jo's Funday Friday Challenge

Happy New Year my crafty friends! I know you probably thought I fell off the face of the earth, but I didn't. The holidays were very busy for me, along with hubby's chemo and family coming in and getting ready for Christmas I was stretched a little thin. I wanted to shout out to my hubby...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! As well as my grand-daughter Leah, who shares a birthday with her Papaw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAH!!! She is two years old today. So we will be celebrating with her and her papaw tonight. Our last son and family left yesterday morning and now the house is so quiet without my other grandchildren. I sure do miss them already and had lots of fun babysitting, spoiling and sugaring them up as well as loving up on them. I hope to have some family pics to share in the short future with you all. It was a beautiful Christmas! Hubby had chemo Monday before Christmas but doc gave him off on the one chemo that causes the cold side effect, so hubby had a wonderful Christmas and felt really good. Praise the Lord!!

Now it is back to real life and I have my first post of the New Year. Over at Jo's Scrap Shack we are having a New Year's challenge for the Funday Friday challenge. Our sponsor is Paper Nest Dolls, so go over and check out what you could win! I picked the "Build A Snowman" digi and colored it up with my Spectrum Noir markers. Not much shading going on because I made my image pretty small. I used glitter glue, ribbon slider, snowflake button and kraft twine on this card. I wanted it to sparkle and shine and I think it does in real life. I tried to capture the sparkle but it was hard, so it looks better in real life. My paper is from a paper pad from Target. My sentiment is a mix of My Creative Time sentiments. I just masked off portions of the stamps with tape to get my sentiment.  Be sure to go over to Jo's Scrap Shack and check out the challenge and then link up with us with your New Year card! As always thank you for stopping by and visiting me for a spell. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Trying to catch the sparkle in shine in the sunlight.
