Fall Wreath-BBTB2
Hello my crafty friends, today it is Monday and a pretty chilly one around here in my neck of the woods! We are only in the 40's this morning with our high only being in the mid 50's. That is 10 degrees cooler than normal for us this time of year! Can you say brrrrrr! lol Today is also a new challenge at BBTB2!! For our theme we were to use a pumpkin from any cart and our fabulous and very talented host is Glenda! Well guess who got confused and didn't go check to be sure I was doing the right thing? If you said little ole me you are right!!! I was thinking for some reason that we were to use a pumpkin or leaves and I used leaves. Yes, that is right, I royally messed up as I didn't use a pumpkin at all. And because it was a busy weekend I waited to even post until this morning! Yeah, how do I fix this? Well I quickly cut out a pumpkin and layed it on my wreath and quick took a pic. So the pumpkin doesn't even look right but to keep with the challenge this is what I did. I didn't glue it down because I don't like it where it is and if I can "tuck" it in with my leaves at the top to where it looks ok, then I will keep it, if I can't it will come off. And of course what was my adhesive?? Hot glue! So maybe I can take the heat gun and heat it a tad to losen my leaves. My only concern is that it will melt the tulle. Anyway onto my project. I got a 10" wreath and cut fifty 18" strips of tulle in different colors, the brown is organza. I tied each one around the wreath form using a knot. After that was done, I made a mum flower using the Flower Shoppe cart. I inked my mum pieces with Wild Honey distress ink, then I cut my leaves from Flower Shoppe and Straight from the Nest Cricut carts and inked them with walnut stain distress ink. I curled the leaves and flower petals to give some dimenion and to make my flower and leaves look more realistic. My mum looks much better in person. Then I hot glued everything on my wreath. I think that is about it. Oh I chose not to cut my "ends" of tulle beause I use using a small wreath so to make it look bigger I kept them a little long. But you could certainly cut them down more. This isn't my idea at all!!! I saw just the tulle wreath on Pinterest, I just added my spin by using die cuts attached to it. Go check out my DT sisters as I know first hand what fabulous creations they have for you. Then go get your craft on and join us in this challenge. Just remember to make your pumpkin a Cricut cut and link back to BBTB2 and then link up with us. Thanks everyone, happy crafting!!
