Tags, Tags and more Tags!

Hello my crafty friends, just wanted to share some tags that I made for my gifts this year.  They were simple so I could mass produce them but I thought they were cute and looked great on my packages.  I used the Gingerbread Seasonal Cricut cart, kraft card stock, Paper Trey Ink stamp set for the Merry Christmas, My Pink Stamper snowflake stamps and My Creative Time tag dies, and some white ink.  Cute huh?! Don't they look like Gingerbread cookies? lol By sticking with the kraft colored paper and white accents they went well with all my wrapping papers.  I loved how they looked and they were easy to make a lot of them in no time at all.  Hope this inspires you to make some holiday tags and everyday tags for your presents!  Build a little stash and you will be ready to go when the time comes.  Wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year!!! Crafty hugs...Brenda

Day 25 of 25 Days 2012

Hello my crafty friends, today is the last day of the 25 Days at My Paper Crafting.  Wow didn't that go by fast?!!  I can't believe that December has flown by the way it has, of course Christmas always seems to sneek up on me. lol  For today I used the beautiful free digi of Baby Jesus in the manger and put it on an S fold 5x7 card base.  Used my Spectrum Noir markers to color Baby Jesus and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, it does look much better in person though.  I am trying to do better with these markers-but as you can see I still have much to learn.  I am hoping after the holidays I can focus on practicing my coloring and technique!  The Santa paper is from an old Martha Steward paper pack and the dark red star paper is from My Minds Eye, Lost and Found Christmas stack, and I belive the paper that I used the Spellbinder die on is from this years DCWV Christmas stack. I punched a star from glitter paper and made it into a 3D barn star and used stickles around it. I didn't get my inside sentiment done as my grandchildren were here spending the night and they woke up. For the inside I plan on cutting a mat the same as the front and using a computer generated "Jesus is the Reason for the Season".  I hope you have enjoyed the 25 Days 2012 at My Paper Crafting this year and all the freebie that Melin has so generously given out to you.  I know it has been really awesome for me to be on the design team with many wonderfuly talented women!! My mojo wasn't the best as I got busier for Christmas.  I just wasn't with it this year, but I hope that you found lots of inpiration from all the design team women and enjoyed spending time with us this year!  Wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year!!!  Crafty hugs to all and to all a good night!

Day 23 at My Paper Crafting

Hello my crafty friends, today is day 25 at My Paper Crafting.  Have you been keeping up with each day? Well you have been doing better than me!!! I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been keeping up with each day.  I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with Christmas just a few short days away, how did it get here so dang fast?! lol I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling this way!  Anywho, back to my little card. Ok, it's not so little, it is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card.  I'm telling my mojo has gone by the way side so this card is not that good at all.  I think it is the stress of Christmas! lol At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it!  First off I messed up my digi when I was cutting it out, but because I put in so much time and effort to color it with my Spectrum Noir markers I decided to "repair" it and just go with it anyway. I used some gold stickles for his halo and some on the horn, I also used a Snow Writer on the wings and then "puffed" it up using my heat tool, then adding some stickles ontop.  I used some paper from DCWV Christmas stack from this year.  It is greyish/black music paper and thought it went well with this cute little digi.  Isn't this little bear the cutest?!! I know my coloring doesn't do him as much justice as he deserves, but he is still even cute with my coloring! lol  I layered on another piece of paper from a My Minds Eye Christmas paper pack and then my digi image.  I added some black pearls with a Viva Pearl pen.  Other than that I left this card pretty simple because I though the digi was just too cute to "clutter" it up and I just didn't have any mojo anyway. lol I hope you have been enjoying these 23 days and getting some of the freebies that Melin is offering at My Paper Crafting. Only two days to go so enjoy and I will see you again for the 25th!  Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year to you too!

Hello Santa!

Hello my crafty friends, another Monday has rolled around and that means it is time for another Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge and I am hosting this week!  For my theme I chose "Santa" since it is so close to Christmas.  Yeah, don't even ask if I'm good to go for Santa, cause I'm not quite there yet! lol Time goes by way to quickly if you ask me.  Wasn't it just summer???? Ok back on track, maybe that's why I never feel caught up-I always wonder off track.  Soooo....make a project using your Cricut with Santa on it, link it up to BBTB2 and make sure to list what cart you used.  Also BBTB2 will be taking a short holiday break and we will be back in the new year.  So enjoy your Christmas and New Year!!!

I did a tag, cause I need so many of them, lol-for my grandchildrens gifts.  I used Doodlecharms for my Santa and put Polar White Flower Soft on his fur. Gave him some googly eyes, pink cheeks and nose.  I should have inked his beard and mustashe but I didn't.  Oh well I was keeping it simple as I wanted to make many.  My tag base is a die from My Creative Time-love these tags Miss Emma has!  That's about it for my tag, like I said I kept is simple so I could mass produce.  Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Christmas!  Crafty hugs!

Babbles!

Hi my crafty friends, it's Monday and you know what that means-yep it a new Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge!  This week our sweet and talented Julie picked the theme "babbles".  So get your Cricuts humming this week and make a project with "babbles" (ornaments) on it.  Just remember that you must use a Cricut die cut on your project.  For my babble I made an ornament to hang on the tree using the Artiste cart.  I hope you enjoy it and if you would like to know how to make one click here. It doesn't show in the pics but I sprayed my ornament with glimmer mist and my tulle has glitter in it. I would have put it on the tree and took a pic, but my tree isn't up yet. Yes, I live with Scrooges!!

Please be sure to check out the rest of my design team sisters because they will have some amazing projects for you too!  Don't forget to leave them some bloggy love and make sure to link up your project so we can come and leave you some bloggy love!  Happy Craftin/ everyone!

I hope that you have been checking in there everyday as I wouldn't want you to miss out on the awesome freebies and awesome projects that are being posted!! My Design Team Sisters have been doing some amazing projects!  For my project today I am showcasing the cute digi image called Rainy Day Bear.  Our theme is Showers and Flowers and I just couldn't resist this cute little bear.  I colored him with my Spectrum Noir markers (remember you can click on the pics to make them bigger) and placed him on a easel card base. My little bear was cut out with a die from SU, my papers came from the DCWV Citrus stack, my little photo corners are a Cuttlebug die, used Skittles/Dew Drops for holding my easel up, and my sentiment comes from My Creative Time.  I used glossy accents on my raindrops and puddle but you really can't tell from the pics, although you can in person. Please continue to visit My Paper Crafting as we have many more days left with awesome projects and many more freebies that are just as cute as this little bear!  Happy Crafting!!!!

BBTB2 Challenge Time!

Hi my crafty friends!  It is Monday so that means it is time for another BBTB2 challenge!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  My family traveled to NY then to Iowa and had Thanksgiving with our 5th son and his soon to be wife.  It was so nice and we enjoyed our trip very much.  We are so blessed in so many ways!  Now for my project, my super sweet and very talented friend Suzanne picked our theme and it is "gift giving" - decorate a gift bag or tag using Cricut die cuts, so I chose to do a tag.  My tag is from Plantin School book cut at 4.75, my Nativity (don't remember the size-sorry) came from Teresa Collins Dec. 25th Cricut cart, my paper is from an old Martha Steward Christmas paper pack-I think and I used my Martha Steward branch punch, as well as a Creative Memories star punch that I made 3D, a Viva Pearl Pen and some red crystals.  I think my ribbons came from Hobby Lobby and the tiny button is from JoAnns, the hemp is from Wal-Mart. I also took a page from an old Bible that a pastor was throwing away and placed on my tag, I inked it using Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink of our Savior's birth.  I think that is about it.  I hope you have enjoyed my tag and now it is your turn. Just remember to use your Cricut and follow our simple rules which you can find at BBTB2.  Please check out my Design Team Sisters as I know they will have some amazing projects for you and please don't forget to leave some bloggy love for them as well.  Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!!

So Grateful and Thankful!

Hi my crafty friends, Brenda here and today at Sweet Sassy Diva we were asked to make a project for something we are grateful for.  I was inspired by Cheri over at DJ's Sundries and Mary over at CardzTV.  Mary inspired me to use the Artiste cart and make the 3D pumpkin but she added more layers. And even though I didn't do it the way she did, she did inspire me to do this.  Now for the rest of my project I lifted from Cheri.  She had an amazing idea and I went with it because I so loved it!  She has an awesome video too for you to watch here, just scroll down a little and it will be there.  Sooo, I started with the Ariste cart and cut out 16 3D pumpkins at 4.5 inches I think.  Sorry I can't remember for sure.  Because they have a slit in each one, I cut both.  So 8 with the slit at the top and 8 with the slit at the bottom.  Had this cart been in my Gypsy I would have hid the slits, but it's not so I didn't. lol  But I did find that I like the slit on the bottom and not the top.  So if you are going to use this pumpkin I would use the bottom slitted one.  You can also use any scallop you like as long as you cut a flat bottom on them.  I just happend to like that shape of the Artiste 3D one.

After cutting them all I folded them in half and dry embossed them.  Also you will want to ink them at this stage too.  Ink on the inside fold.

Next you will start gluing them together by stacking them.

Here's what it will look like after they are all stacked and spread out.  I also wrapped hemp around a paper clip to use to hold a special little surprise.

Want to know what that special little surprise is???  It's a little mini to record what I am thankful for for many years!  It will hold the years 2011 to 2019!  I love that I can write what I am thankful for on each Thanksgiving!  I'm starting with last year because it was a special year in that a son of mine came home for the first time in years and had Thanksgiving dinner with us. I took a tag from Plantin Schoolbook and welded them together.  I put it on my matt diagonally because I wanted an extra tag and that was the only way to fit it on a 12x12 piece of cardstock.

I also cut two more sizes of tags not welded together for my layers. I took some old Creative Memoires Sticker letters and put my years and title on each tag.

Here's what it looks like all done. My leaves on my curly cues are from My Creative Time dies.  I think it will be cute sitting on my table.  I am going to enjoy writing what I'm thankful for each year!!

So what can you make to show how grateful or who you are greatful for?  Happy Craftin my friends!
