3x3 Valentine

Hi Crafty Friends, hope your Monday has been going well today!  Over at Fantabulous Cricut they are having their Monday challenge and the challenge is to make a 3x3 valentine. So for my 3x3 valentine I started out with a 6x3 piece of white card stock.  I then stamped my sentiment from My Creative Time stamp set Teeny Tag Greetings.  Using a black fine point sharpie marker, I drew my black lines going around the card.  Then using Smiley Cards cart I cut out MUAH at 3/4 inch and the lips from Hannah Montana at 1.18 inches.  I put glossy accents on the lips to make them shine.  And there you have it a cute little valentine to tuck into your hubby's lunch box!

Bring on Spring!

We have had a mild winter around these parts, but I can tell you that I am looking forward to spring!!  I'm ready to be outside and not stuck in the house.  It is so wet around here that you can't even walk in the yard to enjoy the mild winter we are having. So this leads to my card I made.  Over at ShE's CrATy Kris is having "Rewind Tuesday".  She pics out two carts, one regular and one Imagine cart and you are to create something using these two carts.  For the first one she picked out Freshly Picked and Nursery Tails.  I made a pretty big card, it is an 8 1/2 by 11 folded in half.  I don't know what this size is called.  But you can get envies for it at Wal-Mart and Staples.  I used the overalls, garden gloves and hat from Freshly Picked, flood filled the images with papers from Nursey Tails.  My stamped sentiment is from My Creative Time, Emma, new stamp and die release.  I think it turned out cute and I am just itching to get outside and get my gloves dirty!! lol  I know it is too early and wet!!!  Check out Kris' site, she is having a couple of weekly things going on and you just might enjoy them!

For the hop today, I've created a Jr. Legal Size Pad Cover.  I got my directions from The Stamp Doc.  She has a video walking you through the steps of making one of these little gems.  I made my flowers, the big puffy one was made by punch 8 scallops, spritzing with water and crumpling up each scallop. Open up each one and stack together.  Pierce a hole through all 8 layers and put in a brad.  Then starty from the top, scrunch up each layer until you have the look you want.  Let air dry and it will get hard.  I added some glitter to mine although it is hard to see in the pic.  For the little roses I used the Cricut cart: Flower Shoppe.  I rolled and glued my roses.  I also use the Martha Steward branch punch for my little "leaves".  Using My Creative Time's stamp set and die I stamped and cut out my sentiment.  Stamped a "postmark" Unique on the paper-I believe the set was Inkadoo from ACMoore.  The other "postmark" was already in the paper.  That's abou it.  This makes a nice little cover for your pads, looks pretty and is functional too.

I want to take the time to thank all of you for all the sweet comments, you all are so awesome!!  I'd also like to thank those of you who are now following me-you rock!  And to my good friend Suzanne-thank you so much for allowing me to share in your special one year anniversary hop!!  Love you sweet lady!!!

For the hop today, I've created .......

A small Valentine's banner.  It is tiny, but oh so cute!!  I used Birthday Bash for the banner part.  I welded the letter shadow to my base using the shadow font from Martha Steward Seasonal Cake Art catr then cut it out in white card stock.  I welded "happy" to the top part of the banners and the "day" from bottom of the banners.  For my banner layer, I used DCWV glitter paper in light pink. For my shadow layer, I used black card stock to go over top of the white welded layer.  Then I cut out the regular letters using DCWV glitter paper in silver.  Did the same for "day" as I did with "happy".  I used Cindy Loo font for "valentines" using black at the base and red as the top layer.  I put a small pearl on each font letter.  I then attached the letters to a rosette made from a Tim Holtz rosette die. I used red twine to attach my banner together to hang.  And there you have it, easy peasy. I am entering my little banner in Decorate to Celebrate Challenge Blog for their Valentine decorations challenge.

Base of my banner and layer is 3"
Shadow and Regular Martha Steward Font layer is 1.50"
Base and Layer Cindy Loo Font is 1.75"

Cards for a Mother and Son

Hi my crafty friends, I have been making cards for Hope and Faith Cards and this two is for a mother and son who are going through a difficult time.  The little boy is in the Ronald McDonald house and mom is having health issues herself.  Prayers would be welcome for this mother and son.

The first card is for mom.  I didn't use any Cricut cuts on it, but did use the Cuttlebug die and embossing folder from the butterfly collection.  I also used Paper Trey Ink Mat Stack stamps and Healing Sentiments, Martha Steward punch and some black gingham ribbon.

This next card is for the son.  I decided to go with a Valentines card for him since it is so close to Valentines day.  I used some paper from K&Co, the bottom is the same paper as the top, just the other side, Robots Cricut cart, Martha Steward punch, Studio G stamps as well as Healing Sentiment stamps from Paper Trey Ink.

Thanks for taking a look, love to read your comments!

A Christmas Scene

Hi Crafty friends!  Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  I am thrilled to be guest designer today at Sweet Sassy Diva!  Thank you for having me Bobbi Jo!

For our challlenge we were asked to make a scene.  My scene is from Christmas watching our DG open her presents from us.  I used my Gypsy to lay out my overall design and yes, I do falter a little from it. lol
I also used my Gyspy along with my Imagine to print and cut out all my images.  Here is my Imagine printing and cutting.
I then inked all my images before assembling them.
Here they are ready to go onto my lo now.
The carts that I used are: Country Life, Joys of the Season, Jolly Holidays, Imagine More, Imagine More Cards, Mr. Frosty and Kate's Kitchen.

Here's my finished layout:

It was so much fun making this scene and I really love how it turned out.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Valentine Cards

Hi all you crafty friends!  Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  I want to thank Bobbi Jo of Sweet Sassy Diva for having me today!  For our challenge we were given a sketch to use.

276984_222188667844208_1903385902_n.jpg
We could make anything we wanted, a layout, a card-whatever we wanted.  So I decided to do a card-well 4 cards!
First I started out by deciding what size I wanted my cards to be and I thought that a 4x9 card would work great with the sketch. So I got my bases together.  Then I gathered some papers from my stash.  I believe all the pattern paper came from K&Co paper stacks I had in my stash. I also decided that Cricut cart I wanted to use for my die cuts. As you can see I chose Creat-A-Critter.
I started layering my first two layers on my card base. Colored card stock and pattern paper.
Then I started building my layers from the sketch.

Next I sized my critters and the base for my critters in my Gypsy.  I used Lacy Labels for the base that my critters are sitting on.  I stretched it to suit my needs on my card.  Cut them all out and then cut out my critters and layers.

I assembled all my layers and popped my critters up on pop dots.  I did my stamping that I wanted to do and added some stickles next.  And there you have it, 4 Valentine cards ready to go to the grandchildren. The sketch made these cards so easy to do.  I kept my die cuts simple as well so that made for quick cards as well. I hope that you will give sketches a try, they sure can take all the guess work out and make for quick cards and layouts!

Hope and Faith Cards

Hi my crafty friends!  I signed up to send cards to children who are chronically ill and in need of a card to brighten their day.  You can sign up here if you wish to send these kids a card.  The first mission is a card for a family who lost their child.  I can't even imagine losing a child!  So sad.  I used Damask Decor to make my card.  I printed and cut using my Imagine. The patterned paper came from Imagine More cart. and Paper Trey Ink Healing Touch Senitments for the inside sentiment and My Pink Stamper stamps for the outside senitment and for the butterfly on the inside.  This card is an A6 card.
The inside:
My second card is for a little boy who is in the hospital and needs some cards to brighten his day.  I made a Z fold A2 card base, Paper Try Ink Mat Stack 4, Paper Trey Ink Tiny Treats Birthday stamps and Paper Trey Ink Healing Touch Sentiments.  DCWV All About Boys stack, and some glitter letters from my stash.

Rose Letter

Just trying to catch up on my post, the new year has started off pretty busy around here.  We have many birthdays in the beginning of January. Any hoo, this is a letter I put rolled roses all over for my friend Vickie.  She is  on our challenge thread on the mb and I was her secret santa.  I made this for her to put into her crafting room. I got a letter at Hobby Lobby, covered it on the sides and front in matching paper then glued my rolled roses on and used my MS branch punch to fill in a little.  I think it turned out pretty cute!

Baby Card

This is the card that is going to go with my tricycle diaper cake for our newest grand-daugher.  I used my Imagine for this A2 size card.  The cart I used is Nursery Tails.  I broke the layers apart and printed them then popped up the bird and the little lamb.  Then popped the whole scallop on the card.  I also used the pattern paper from Nursery Tails as well.  The yellow was in my stash as was the ribbon and the button.  The ribbon was a scrap piece and it was the perfect size for this flat bow.  I also used my MS doily punch along the bottom.  Isn't it so sweet?!!!

Another Tricycle Diaper Cake

We just had another grandbaby arrive on DH's birthday which was the 3rd of January!!  It is a girl so I made a tricycle diaper cake to take over.  We haven't been over yet, will go tomorrow night to see this newest little bundle of joy and get some pics of her.

I think these diaper cakes are the cutest thing ever! lol
